Choir and Music Group

The Choir leads the worship at many services, singing a wide variety of hymns and songs to appeal to all ages. It is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music and meets weekly for an hour’s friendly practice.  Its main aim is to lead and encourage the music within the worship at St James’s. 

Many people feel that if God has given them a talent, they should use it to His glory. New members are always welcome, especially tenors and basses and junior members, with the emphasis on enthusiasm and enjoyment, rather than outstanding  talent!  Anyone who can play an instrument is also very welcome. The ability to read music is an advantage, but not essential as this can be learnt along the way – indeed, some of the junior members are currently learning the organ.
