Learning about the Christian Faith                                                                

Each year there is an opportunity at St James’s to learn more about the Christian Faith through attending an Alpha course. Nearly one and a half million people in the UK have now done the course and many can say that their lives have been transformed by God as a result – they speak of forgiveness, release from addiction, healed marriages, a new love for those on the fringes of society and a new commitment to live their lives for God.

The course lasts 10 weeks and covers such topics as Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? Why read the Bible? Does God heal today? Each session begins with a meal together, a short talk, then discussion with an opportunity to ask questions.

The course is ideal for anyone who wants to learn more about the Christian faith and/or anyone who would like to enquire into what Christianity really means.
